Starting Undersaddle

I introduce horses to saddle work using positive reinforcement and a horse-centered approach. I focus on building a strong foundation based on connection, clarity, and two-way communication, utilising Liberty groundswork and ensuring each horse feels seen, heard, and understood throughout the process. By allowing the horse to have a voice and actively participate in their own learning, they develop confidence, self-regulation, and a genuine willingness to engage. I adapt my techniques to suit the individual needs and responses of each horse, never forcing a method that doesn’t work for them.

This personalized, conscientious approach results in riding horses that not only have the skills they need but also trust their riders and enjoy their work. The result is a calm, well-prepared partner who moves forward in their training with understanding and enthusiasm, benefiting both horse and human for years to come.
